Phil Neville believes it will be a fight between Manchester City and Manchester United for the Premier League title this season.

The near neighbours failed to mount a challenge for the trophy in 2016-17 with the much-anticipated match-up between bosses Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho failing to live up to its billing.

But with City and United having each splashed out more than £100m this summer - and more big-money signings set to follow - Neville is expecting big things from both teams.

"I think the title will end up in Manchester this season, I really do," said the former United and England star, speaking exclusively to talkSPORT.

"United have strengthened and got the confidence from last season and Jose will get the players in he wants, while Pep will bring in another few players.

"If you look at Pep's managerial career, the strength has been his full-backs bombing forward and he didn't have that last year. He is going to strengthen in both areas. He has got [Kyle] Walker, he may sign [Benjamin] Mendy.

"I think the title will end in Manchester."
